Terry Fox Walk and Hair Donation

Our whole school gathered today to cheer on Mrs. Myrah and Olivia, as they both donated their hair to support cancer patients. Their acts of generosity were greeted with a standing ovation from students and staff. After the assembly, we walked together for Terry Fox Day. Thanks for everyone who participated, and especially to Olivia and Mrs. Myrah. We are proud of you!

We Are All Treaty People

We acknowledge that Douglas Park School is on Treaty Four land. We honour the original peoples of the Nehiyaw, Ashinabe, Lakota, Nakota, Dakota and Metis. It is our privilege to recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land that we all share. We are all Treaty People.

FCC Drive Away Hunger

Our school is participating in FCC Drive Away Hunger, which means we'll be collecting donations of food and cash for people in our area who are hungry. Because we're participating in this program, FCC will include our school in a draw for a $500 donation to be used to make improvements at the winning school.

If you can, we'd like you to send food items to school with your child between October 2- October 11 to support this program.

Please bring food items to the office. Thank-you!

Playground Safety Reminders

Please help us keep everyone safe!

Supervision on the playground for non-transported students begins at 8:38. Please ensure that your student does not arrive at school before this time.

Transported students must remain on the LC1 playground (where supervision is provided) from arrival until 8:38.

Please remind your students to always tell a supervisor if they see something that is unsafe.

For "little" problems, remind students to use good playground strategies: ignore, make a deal, walk away, or ask a supervisor for help.

Have fun and stay safe!
