Immunization News from RQHR Public Health for September 2017
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Good afternoon Douglas Park Community - in lieu of the continued impasse in bargaining that STF has announced effective Monday,
More changes coming - this Thursday the lunch hour has been changed and an updated plan will be in place.
A letter and visual that are being sent home today to communicate upcoming job action by the STF that will impact our Lions.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We acknowledge that Douglas Park School is on Treaty Four land. We honour the original peoples of the Nehiyaw, Ashinabe, Lakota, Nakota, Dakota and Metis. It is our privilege to recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land that we all share. We are all Treaty People.
Our school is participating in FCC Drive Away Hunger, which means we'll be collecting donations of food and cash for people in our area who are hungry. Because we're participating in this program, FCC will include our school in a draw for a $500 donation to be used to make improvements at the winning school.
If you can, we'd like you to send food items to school with your child between October 2- October 11 to support this program.
Please bring food items to the office. Thank-you!
Please help us keep everyone safe!
Supervision on the playground for non-transported students begins at 8:38. Please ensure that your student does not arrive at school before this time.
Transported students must remain on the LC1 playground (where supervision is provided) from arrival until 8:38.
Please remind your students to always tell a supervisor if they see something that is unsafe.
For "little" problems, remind students to use good playground strategies: ignore, make a deal, walk away, or ask a supervisor for help.
Have fun and stay safe!
